My 9 Favorite Kylie Jenner-esque Lip Products

Hey guys, long time no see on here! I know I don't blog regularly but every once in a while I come up with a good idea for a blog post I try to follow through. If you watched my recent room tour  I mentioned that I was working on this. But on the subject at hand I've assembled 9 of my favorite lip products that fall in the realm of "Kylie Jenner" lip colors. Some of these are a long shot but I still included them because not everyone wants to 100% imitate her look.
Milani Lip Liner in 03 Nude
This Milani lip liner is what I've decided is a good baseline to compare everything to.
Maybelline Color-sensational Lipstick in Make Me Pink
This Maybelline is a lighter and more pink/lavender toned. What I would consider a spring/summer take on Kylie's look.
Makeup For Ever Rouge Artist Lipstick in N9
This lipstick I would assume many people have because it was included in the 2014 Sephora birthday gift. But this lipstick is very close to what I would consider a true "Kylie" lip color.
NYX Matte Lipstick in Natural
This lipstick is matte, which helps achieve the exact look you might be looking for but this color is cooler than our "baseline" color.
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 08
This lipstick is a very neutral toned option. Depending on your coloring if neither warm or cool neutrals look good on you this might be a good option.
Elf Matte Lipstick in Natural
This is my favorite matte lipstick formula! This color is a perfect pinky nude for me. Its lighter and cooler than our baseline
Elf Matte Lipstick in Tea Rose
This color is farthest from what our baseline color is but I decided to include it none the less. Its very purple and cool toned but I think it still falls in the realm of colors we are describing as "Kylie Jenner" colors.

Well guys, I realized this post seems kind of thrown together, but I didn't take as much time as usual to perfect this post. But I hope you still enjoy regardless!

5 Favorite "My Lips But Better" Products

If you guys haven't seen the video that corresponds with this post or vice-versa I just wanted to go a bit more in-depth on the specific colors I mentioned.

From Right to Left Elf Matte Lip Color in Natural, Kate Moss #17 by Rimmel, Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey, and the Buxom Full On Lip Polish in Dolly
  • The Elf Matte Lip Color is the least expensive of the bunch at $3, and it is also the most brown toned. I love the formula of these matte lip colors because they don't dry my lips out and feel semi-moisturizing if that is even possible.
  • The Kate Moss Lipstick is the most opaque of all and is also the most pink. I love this lipstick because it is your basic everyday pink with just enough nude to be considered a "My Lips But Better" type shade.
  • The Revlon Lip Butter is the most moisturizing option out of the 5 and is subsequently the most sheer. But since the color is sheer it gives the appearance of slightly berry toned lips without being too opaque and vampy.
  • The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is also a balmy formula but it isn't as moisturizing as a lip butter. I chose this product because of its staining abilities, I can put this on on the morning before school and still see color when I return home. The color is a pink toned mauve and makes my lips look just slightly deeper and glossy. And that will wear off and leave your lips looking naturally mauvey.
  • The most expensive product here is the Buxom Full on Lip Polish which I wasn't sure the price of in my video but I checked and a full-size retails for $19 (more expensive than I said in the video). But I love this formula of lip gloss/lip plumper because it is sticky enough to make it very long-wearing but not annoying sticky. This color is almost identical to the Revlon balm stain but just in gloss form.

Tarte Pure Delights LipSurgence Gift Set for Hoilday 2013

Hey Guys! Today I have another holiday gift set to review for you guys.  As I mentioned in my last post I was searching for this set in Sephora and Ulta stores and with no luck. So I broke down and ordered it online from Ulta.com . This set is perfect for any fall/winter gift or if your like me and love Tarte LipSurgences.
Matte Lip Tints From Left to Right Generous, Cheerful, Glee and Destined
This set comes with 8 mini LipSurgences; 4 matte and 4 original. They are all limited edition shades as well. So if you love one of the shades you might want to pick this kit up sooner than later.
Swatches From Left to Right Generous,Cheerful,Glee and Destined
First of all the matte lip tints are more dry and therefore more pigmented. But they don't feel like a matte lipstick, they are more balmy and moisturizing. The color Generous is a deep nude with brown undertones. Cheerful is a medium pink and the brightest shade in the set. Glee is a berry-red, the only gripe I have with this particular one is the deceiving packaging color, as you can see by my picture above the packaging is a light pink not even close to the actual color. Destined is the deepest color in the kit; a dark berry shade.
Natural Lip Tints From Left to Right Believe, Lovely, Enamored and Grateful
These are the original LipSurgence formula and that makes them sheerer than the matte ones. The color Believe is a bright berry toned pink. Lovely is light nude pink shade. Enamored is the brightest color in the kit; a true red and when you build the color you will have a really intense red. Grateful is a very sheer nude almost undetectable on my lips. Overall I do like the matte tints better just because of the color payoff and them being matte in general.
Swatches From Left to Right Believe, Lovely, Enamored and Grateful
This kit is valued at $112 let's see...there are 8  0.06oz tints which is a little more than half of the product of the full size. Which amounts to a $115.20 value pretty accurate on their part.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip Set Review and Swatches

I went in to Sephora the other day looking for the new Tarte holiday lipsurgence 8-piece set and couldn't find it but I saw this instead. I saw Emilynoel83 mention this on her blog which influenced me to pick this up.Take a look at her post here where she did lip swatches of all these products.

From Left to Right- Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Pink, Buxom Full On Lip Polish in Dolly, Nars Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight, Bite Beauty High Pigment Matte Pencil in Rhubarb and Tarte LipSurgence Lip Luster in Glitzy
The outer sleeve comes off to reveal a rose gold box, then after opening the lid you see your six products in order from smallest to largest.

The  Fresh Sugar Rose Treatment is a lip balm/treatment with SPF 15 and has a tint to it. This feel very luxurious on and leaves your lips feeling very smooth. The scent of this is slightly floral and sweet definitely not overwhelming at all. This product is great for day wear because you should wear SPF everyday on your face and lips and having that built in is an added bonus.

The Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Pink is a light pink with a hint of peach. I love the formula of this gloss because it's not sticky and not too sheer. The scent of this gloss is sweet and has a hint of vanilla in it, quite pleasant. I think this would be a good lip gloss to top off any nude or light pick lipstick.

Buxom Full on Lip Polish in Dolly is a plumy mauve color with a shimmer. These do have a minty scent and make your lips feel tingly for about the first 10 minutes you have in on. Again not to sticky and the shimmer isn't too frosty. This color on me is slightly darker than my natural lips but I still would consider it a "my lips but better" color.

Nars Turkish Delight used to be a beauty cult favorite like 3 or 4 years ago maybe even longer. This is a milky baby pink shade and was coveted to be Kim Kardashian's favorite lip gloss. If I wear this alone it makes my lips look odd and like I have a film over them. But over any nude lipstick it looks really nice and gives a hint of pink and a lot of shine. These lip glosses have a slightly chemically scent but it isn't noticeable unless you stick your nose up to the tube. I don't find these are sticky at all either.

The Bite Beauty High Pigment Matte Pencil in Rhubarb is a dark rose shade. These are very matte so they are drying but if you put on a lip balm beforehand you won't experience much drying at all. I love matte lipsticks so I was excited to see this was in the kit. This shade is also so perfect for fall if you like vampy lips.

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Luster in Glitsy is the only full sized product in the kit. The Lip Luster formula is a sheer shimmery glossy balm. This color is a golden nude with a hint of pink. It feels like a balm on the lips and leaves your lips very soft and moisturized.

Bare Minerals Lip Gloss in Wild Honey

This retails for $15 alone. The packaging is a clear hard plastic tube with a matte black top. There are 17 other colors in this line. This gloss wears pretty well on me; around 3 hours. I don't mind the scent it's sweetish and has some vanilla to it.
Cliams: Shine naturally — without preservatives, parabens and artificial dyes. Our all-natural polish combines 100% pure bareMinerals with delectable ingredients such as Pomegranate Seed Oil and Honeysuckle Flower Extract.

This has a brush tip applicator, this applies product evenly across the lips.
The color wild honey is a peach toned nude with slight gold shimmer and a pearl finish.
I would recommend this formula of gloss to you guys and for all of you who are conscience of parabens and stuff like that these are 100% natural.

Elizabeth Arden Duo (Silversmoke and Jewel)

This duo is in the older packaging with the thick black top with clear base. I dislike this packaging because you can see the pans through the bottom. The Silversmoke is buttery and both are very pigmented but Jewel is powdery and chalky. The color Jewel is a deep matte plum. Silversmoke is a pink toned light nude almost white. Jewel produces a lot of fallout. These duos now in the new packaging retail for $28.50. But I don't believe the colors are the same the closest one now are the black tie or tempting taupe duos.
